Everything in each room has been meticulously hand picked by Mr. Paulsen himself from the marble and granite countertops, to the ultra thermo-masseur jetted bathtubs. In addition the hotel features Austrian linens and Hungarian duvet covers, separate glass encased walk-in showers, and each item in the well-stocked mini-bars has been personally picked. All of these luxurious amenities come standard in the Hotel Bellwether's 66 rooms.
"I wanted to choose what went in each room and in doing so this personalization created a uniqueness which has become a trademark to the Hotel Bellwether," said Paulsen.
Amid the new trend of boutique hotels worldwide attempting to create a feeling of "comfortable luxury," a recent USA Today article discussed the movement to create such luxury in U.S. hotels. "Many luxury hotels are making bathrooms bigger, replacing bathtubs with tiled, walk-in showers, and providing double vanities. Less-expensive hotels are replacing man-made countertops with granite," Hotel Bellwether has featured these "new" amenities in each room since its beginning in 2001.
