Hotel Setting Trends Press Release

BELLINGHAM BOUTIQUE HOTEL SETTING TRENDS AND TURNING HEADS

Bellingham, WA, October 3, 2006- When Peter Paulsen set out to create a ‘romantic European retreat' in 1998 on the waterfront of Bellingham Bay, he did not expect to initiate a trend in hotel accommodations. However true to the definition of a bellwether, he did just that, a ‘bellwether' is "one who serves as a leader or as a leading indicator of future trends." By focusing the Hotel Bellwether around the "European Touch" he has ultimately set the bar in the boutique hotel market and created one of the most unique and luxurious hotel destinations in the Pacific Northwest.

With the Hotel Bellwether at the forefront of the boutique hotel industry, the hotel boasts luxurious rooms with unsurpassable views of the San Juan Islands and Bellingham Bay. Everything in each room has been meticulously hand picked by Mr. Paulsen himself from the marble and granite countertops, to the ultra thermo-masseur jetted bathtubs. In addition the hotel features Austrian linens and Hungarian duvet covers, separate glass encased walk-in showers, and each item in the well-stocked mini-bars has been personally picked. All of these luxurious amenities come standard in the Hotel Bellwether's 66 rooms.

"I wanted to choose what went in each room and in doing so this personalization created a uniqueness which has become a trademark to the Hotel Bellwether," said Paulsen.

Amid the new trend of boutique hotels worldwide attempting to create a feeling of "comfortable luxury," a recent USA Today article discussed the movement to create such luxury in U.S. hotels. "Many luxury hotels are making bathrooms bigger, replacing bathtubs with tiled, walk-in showers, and providing double vanities. Less-expensive hotels are replacing man-made countertops with granite," Hotel Bellwether has featured these "new" amenities in each room since its beginning in 2001. As the trendsetter in the Pacific Northwest, the Hotel Bellwether hopes to establish new trends in the industry without straying away with the trends they've already set forth; such trends have helped the Hotel Bellwether's net returns which have exceeded expectations for investors and occupancy. The Hotel Bellwether and Peter Paulsen continue to strive to seek innovative and captivating ways to create an experience with the guests comfort and luxury in mind.
