We are pleased to announce the “Best of Bellingham” fall travel package complete with two-night accommodations and entry to two of the city’s most popular locales. The Best of Bellingham package includes:
• A welcome bag filled with locally-made goodies and $25 in downtown dollars that can be used at a variety of local shops and businesses in downtown Bellingham including Boundary Bay Brewery, Kulshan Cycles and Mallard Ice Cream. For a full list of retailers that accept downtown dollars click here.
• Two passes to the historic Pickford Film Center, a local independent movie house featuring year-round, independent, foreign and documentary films and related special events.
• Two Whatcom Museum passes that include access to the new Lightcatcher building opened in fall 2009 and named for its focal point—a spectacular, translucent wall 37 feet high and 180 feet long that captures the sunlight. The 42,000-square-foot-building integrates natural materials native to the region and is the first museum in Washington designed and registered to LEED Silver-Level specifications.
• Dinner for two at the Bellwether’s Haborside Bistro where Chef Rob Pinski offers a seasonal menu of fresh Northwest fare. Dishes range from the signature Coconut Lime Seafood Chowder to fine steaks to the freshest catch of the day.
• Two nights in a waterview guestroom at Hotel Bellwether with Continental breakfast each morning.

A Whale of a Good Time
Hotel Bellwether is offering a chance to set out on the high seas for a whale watching excursion with Victoria San Juan Cruises.
Your whale watching adventure departs from Fairhaven at 9:30 am, takes you to Friday Harbor for a look around the island and then back to the boat for whale watching. The boat return you to Fairhaven by 7pm. Package starts at $332 for weekday and $351 for weekend.
You can add-on to your package too:
- Picnic lunch for 2 for your Friday Harbor break add $25
- Dinner from our preset dinner menu in the Harborside Bistro add $60

Overboard Package
Departing from Seattle, guests will fly to Bellingham in a private plane that will provide a private one-hour tour of Bellingham, offering aerial views of the San Juan Islands, The Bellingham Bay and Mount Baker. Following the tour, guests will ease into their vacation with a massage at the Zazen Spa, located next to the Hotel Bellwether. Later, guests will receive a private dinner on the observation deck of their suite, enjoying a multi-course meal and wine pairings prepared by Chef Rob Pinski, of the hotel's Harborside restaurant. While taking in the 360-degree views, guests will enjoy Chef Rob's personally prepared menu featuring fresh, seasonal items with a Pacific Northwest flavor. On day two, guests board a private yacht for an excursion throughout the neighboring San Juan Islands. In the late spring, summer and early fall, whales and other wildlife are likely to be seen. Upon retiring to the hotel, guests will dine at Dirty Dan Harris', a legendary seafood and steakhouse located in Bellingham's bustling and historic Fairhaven neighborhood. Town car transportation will be provided.
